In the Comments group there are buttons to insert a new Comment, navigate among Comments, and show or hide Comments. Although you can also insert text boxes with comments, we'll forgo that method here. I had our desktop support group recreate the user's profile, but apparently the issue remains. In Excel 2013, you can access Comments through the Review tab of the ribbon (I will use Excel 2013 to show these old-school Comments, since my Excel 2016 has been updated through Office 365). Note that this article applies to Excel 20 and not 2016 and newer versions of Excel which have threaded comments and traditional comments are called notes. I logged in to the user's machine with my profile and was able to load the add-in without problem. I removed and re-added the add-in, ran a repair on Office, upgraded Office to our current version, and replaced the Solver.xlam file on the user machine, no change.

He receives a msg about macros not being able to load, as did I, but on the test machines I received a prompt to trust the add-in, whereas he does not.

Our company has gpo restrictions on loading add-ins, but I am able to load and use it on mine and a test machine w.o problem.
Cant insert comment excel 2016 windows 10#
The user is on Windows 10 with Office O365 2016 v.2215. When clicking on the button, nothing happens. To be specific, the question-mark/arrow symbol is there, but it doesn't say Solver. The add-in is selected, but when going to Data > Analyze, the Solver button is not fully there. If you don't want any text in your picture comment, just delete it. Right-click on the commented cell and choose the Show/Hide Comments option from the menu. In case the cell already contains a note, you need to make it visible. I have a user who is unable to load the Solver add-in in Excel. Right-click the cell and choose Insert Comment from the context menu. Took a look at the EE forums but can't seem to find a solution.
